My journey: Over 37 Years of Building Better Futures

Every venture has a starting point, and mine began in the vast, demanding fields of the property and compliance industries. Over my career, I’ve had the privilege of navigating the complex terrain of building standards, civil engineering, and property development in South Africa.

But I didn't start my journey at the top. Thirty-seven years ago, I was exactly where you might be now: looking for a sustainable, resilient career path that would survive economic downturns. I learned early on that success in property doesn’t always mean buying and selling. High-quality compliance and structural integrity are legally required, recession-resilient necessities that never lose their value.

Recognizing a major gap in the market for accessible, expert property inspections, I launched PPI (originally beginning this path over 10 years ago).

At first, we faced the same hurdles many of our affiliates do. Building templates, mastering the software, understanding legal frameworks, and ensuring our technical reports were bulletproof took years of trial and error. But I knew we were on to something.

• The Anecdote that Changed Everything: When we first started, getting a certified engineer to sign off on a complex structural issue was incredibly slow and costly for an independent business. I realized that if I could build a centralized team of experts to handle the heavy lifting back-office vetting and legal signoffs, I could allow independent affiliates on the ground—even those with absolutely no engineering background—to behave as the elite expert interface. 4. No Liability, High Returns: You capture data and identify issues, and our team of senior structural, mechanical, and civil engineers handles the complex reviews and hand-signs the technical components. We carry the risk while you earn 20% to 50% referral commissions on complex commercial work.
